The PSP Go has leaked!

Sony's video magazine Qore released pics and vids of the PSP Go. The newly leaked handheld will allegedly do away with the UMD drive and switch to a 16GB flash drive with expandable memory.
Overall I'm digging the form factor but we need some more details before we can say for sure about this new handheld.

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned Review

Back when GTAIV came out it receive a whirlwind of great coverage and even better reviews. The well received story of a European man coming to America for a better life took the gaming world by storm. A bevy of new characters, great story, robust multiplayer, and much improved gameplay had GTAIV becoming one of the best games this generation, if not of all times. However, once gamers began to finish the single player portion, instead of staying online with the multiplayer they somewhat began to move on.

All the whilst Rockstar was prepping a brand new episode for the game. That is were The Lost and Damned come into to picture. In the latest from Rockstar North, you take on the role of Johnny Klebitz, a tough as nails Biker who became the leader of The Lost motorcycle crew. That is until the former leader gets out of prison, Billy. What then ensues is a conflict of authority between Johnny and Billy. The story is told through cutscenes that are every single bit as well directed as they were in Niko's tale, if not better. Overall, the story might even be more well received by gamers than Niko's. Truth be told Niko had a very compassionate story but quite frankly Johnny's tale is far and away more "cool". Riding along your crew to go bust some caps in someone is so badass that you can't help but feel cool. There are some characters that return in TLAD including Niko himself. All in All it sould take the average person anywhere between 5-8 hours to complete.

You can't have a motorcycle gang without the bikes, and TLAd has tons of 'em. Not only that but this time you won't dread riding them. Rockstar has finely tuned the choppers so that it makes getting hit by anything other than an 18 wheeler not throw you off. Basically, you have to want to get knocked off to actually get knocked off. Other aspects of the game are generally the same.

There are brand new weapons in the game, my favorite of which is the new assault shotgun. It tears vehicles up like its nothing. And you'll get to experience it at its best during one of the cooler missions in the game. As a results of the new weapons the enemies as a whole are a tad harder to kill, in that they can take more damage.

Graphics wise the game is still very good looking. One thing to note is the noise filter that people have been complaining about including some professional reviewers. Basically the noise filter gives the game a decidedly more grainy picture. And a lot of those same reviews failed to mention that it can be turned off. I personally kept it on because I generally like to keep the game the way the developers had it. Other things to mention about TLAD are the new multiplayer modes. I haven't had a chance to really get thorough with it but they are mostly variations of the older modes.

In conclusion GTAIV:TLAD is the newest standard in downloadable content quality. Other developers are probably ashamed to offer their DLC now and rightfully so. Because TLAD at $20 is a better value than many full priced games. It offers a quality story, great gameplay, new multiplayer modes and is already my favorite piece of gaming this year. Rockstar is teh best!LOL!

Review score: 9.5

Mass Effect 2 Revealed!

Mass Effect 2 was revealed this past Friday in the form of a teaser trailer. What a tease indeed! There were several implications, the biggest of which revealing that Commander Shephard was killed in action. What this means as it pertains to whether or not you'll reprise your role as Shephard we shall find out. In the meanwhile here is the trailer.

The Lost and Damned Review: Coming soon

While the big wigs in the game journalism department have had their reviews up for a while us normal humans have been struggling to keep up. On Monday Feb. 23, Gam3spawn's review of The Lost and Damned will be up and we'll tell you why TLAD is almost as good as the original GTA IV and how it is the brand new standard in downloadable content.

Halo Wars Demo Impressions

Halo Wars is an RTS spinoff by now-nonexistent Ensemble Studios exclusively for the Xbox 360. This is first and foremost, a console RTS title, so naturally, we're not expecting it to require or be structured around the speed and precision that accompany RTS gaming on a PC. Everything is done with a controller and the face buttons pretty much which, if you're an RTS gamer on the PC, will know and probably expect to not handle as tightly as you'd hope.

I was a PC RTS gamer myself. Since the original relic that was Starcraft i've had my shares of top-down carnage in my day. Halo Wars is, for RTS fans willing to give a console RTS a spin, and for those into Halo canon willing to get a cinematic war experience from a Halo backdrop, definitely worth giving a shot.

Resource gathering in this game takes a hint from the Dawn of War games. Similar to DOW's requisition count, Halo Wars follows the premise of building factories and other resource gatherers at your main base while your resources pile up. I liked the old school RTS style that was present in Starcraft and such, but it seems that that system is heading out the door. No more micromanagement of your resource gatherers, engaging in their own small contests for hotspots of resources, its just build and watch the cash grow.

But then again, all that would be tough to do on a controller, and this is a console game after all, developed with that in mind. Environments seem to be varied, with snow-barren Forerunner ruins, and lush-green blood-gulch venues (there's even a map in the game with that name) you've always got a new place to fight. Enemies seem to control differently as far as the demo was concerned, and it was rather fun to play as the covenant for as long as you did in the brief tutorial. The game feels, sounds, and looks like halo, which is good, and gives some backstory for those interested in the tale before there was Master Chief. This is a game more about action than it is about micromanagement, troop co-ordination, resource and base harassment, and other RTS tricks, but thats not to say its not satisfying.

While it may not have satisfied the complex PC RTS antics that I grew to love, Halo Wars fits the bill for a nice RTS on a console with a nice draw. Its just a shame, because I just have a feeling that the game wont sell particularly well even with its Halo name. Its also a damn shame, and a relative mystery why Microsoft didnt just decide to put support behind a PC version of the game, which would have been an entertaining piece of PC fluff. Microsoft has always seemed to make it about making money above all, so why not here? Especially on a Halo title?

But if you've always been thinking about delving into the RTS waters, which I admit always seem to carry an air of intimidation about them due to the horrendously skilled meta-game that always spawns from an RTS title, Halo Wars is a good start. While not incredibly deep, its a nice action-oriented Real Time Strategy game that uses its Halo backdrop quite well, and lets not forget the incredible CG cutscenes and slightly altered art design that definitely had me, a fan of Halo canon, hooked and interested in.

In the end, I was pleased with what I had to play with, im just dissapointed it wasnt with my keyboard and mouse.

Resident Evil 5

It seems as though the spring is rapidly becoming the new time of the year to expect high quality games. In the past few years games like Oblivion, Ghost Recon Advanced War 2, Fight Night Round 3, and Grand Theft Auto 4 have all been released in the spring. This year, leading the "high quality game" pack is undoubtedly Resident Evil 5. On January 26, the demo for RE5 was released as timed released on the Xbox 360. ( The PS3 demo will be released the following week.) So we here at Gam3Spawn decided to take it for a ride.

Lets begin by saying that the game is gorgeous. We tested out both of the levels presented and let me tell you the visuals are certainly up there with the best of them. Both character models are highly detailed and to a lesser extent so are the infected inhabitants. The locations are kind of drab but I think that is mostly intentional.

As for how the game plays, it certainly is something. It certainly seems as though the developers had a direction that they wanted to head in and it seems as though they achieve their goals. However their are a couple of gripes that may alienate some gamers.

  1. Immobility- Obviously you can move your character, that's a given. However, aim your gun at someone and you become stationary, bucking all of the gaming conventions. Like I said it seems more like a conscious design decision rather than an overlooked game bug. That can be forgiven but please let me know why I can not move while my knife is equipped ?! If a foe is out of reach so be it. You must put your knife away and get closer. This just makes it seem as though your character is has no desire to survive.
  2. Clunky Controls-This kind of goes along with the last point but I think it deserved its own number. In the demo and in undoubtedly in the final game you are not able to shoot unless you aim. Resident Evil fans may not care but Capcom and the developers must realize that many first time RE gamers will be picking this game up. Running is mapped to the "A" button. The problem with that is that it adds an extra mechanic to the game where it is not necessary. That's why the sticks on the controller are analog.
  3. Wonky A.I.- Now I know this is a bit nitpicky in a way but truth be told, the A.I. could be alot smarter. The enemies will let you just run by them and seek shelter, all the while posing no immediate threat. Yet somehow the game seems a little on the hard side but that's because the game doesn't control all that well. Your partner in crime is named Sheva and can be controlled by a fellow gamer or the A.I. If you had to choose, your actual human friend would be preferable. Sheva, the A.I. robot, is not bad but she tends to do things that are not conducive for progression.
After reading the gripes you may feel that the game is not shaping up well however, the exact opposite is true. The game is showing great promise with hot visuals and a dedicated vision by the developers. The only question is whether or not that dedicated direction portrayed in the demo will alienate some gamers.

Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage Review

Fallout is is easily one of the best games of 2008 and Bethesda Softworks has has released its first DLC for the game. Fallout 3 alone has 100's of things to do in its open world rpg and your probably gonna spend at least 20 hours on it at the least. So is the Operation Anchorage DLC worth the money? Hell ya.

When you first load up your saved game, it'll take a couple minutes before the quest appears. Once you get to the location you'll end up in the middle of a battle between the Outcasts of the Brotherhood of Steel and Super Mutants. Once the battle is finished, you will go to the Outcast's outpost underground. When you finish talking to the Outcast Scribe,(I don't want to spoil to much) you will end up in Alaska in the year 2066. Your in the middle of the battle against Communist Chinese soldiers which are occupying Anchorage, Alaska. With your friend, Sergeant Benjamin Montgomery, and other American soldiers, you go and defeat the Chinese and take back Anchorage(easier said than done). When you go back to the Outcast's outpost, they will tell you to open the locked room with all the technology that was the whole reason for sending you to Alaska. They also tell you to take anything you want, and let me tell you, there's a lot of stuff. In the room there is new armor, weapons new and old, and a lot of ammo and aid. While you are taking, some Outcast are arguing in the background. After they're done arguing, they will start fighting, and they'll fight you too. You'll probably end up killing everyone and the others will die in battle, but its cool because you got so much stuff that its worth it.

Some of the new things that are in Alaska are things like health dispenser, which raises your health to full, and ammo dispenser, which increases all of your ammo to the highest it can go. Some things you can't do are things like searching bodies because they disappear, but you'll get all the things that were in Alaska later. There are also 4 new achievements:

Operation: Anchorage: 40 points
Completed "Operation: Anchorage"

Paving the Way: 20 points
Completed "Paving the Way"

The Guns of Anchorage: 20 points
Completed "The Guns of Anchorage"

Aiding the Outcasts: 20 points
Completed "Aiding the Outcasts"

This DLC is only 800 microsoft points($10). Its really worth the money, especially for the hardcore Fallout fans who have been urging for a new quest. I didn't face too many bugs and everything felt really good. I would highly recommend this to any and everyone who likes Fallout 3.

World of Goo Review

World of Goo is the ideal game for an engineer. This game takes place in the world of goo(hence the name) and you are the creator of structures made of goo balls. With the help of the Sign Painter(not really), you can get make structures to help the goo balls get to the world of goo corporation's pipes.

The concept is pretty simple and easy to understand. you take one goo ball, see where it will be placed, and let it go. Just like that, but where you put decides your fate. With certain obstacles that will pop the goo balls like windmills and gears, the game stays interesting. there are also different kinds of goo balls with different powers that make the levels fun. The graphics are great and do all they really need to do and little bit more.

The sound is entertaining and fun. Its similar to loco roco, so you know it'll get stuck in your head. The gameplay is great. Your probably gonna spend a good 10 rushing through this and about 12-15 hours taking your time, and that's not even counting the online building.

During online building, you build your own tower of goo in the "Tower of Goo" section, which takes all of your extra goo balls and lets you build as high as you can go while looking at how high other players around the world got their towers. You'll probably go back and try to beat your highscores with the OCD mode, which basically gives you a limit on how many moves you can make, or try to beat other highscores online.

Sound: 9
Entertaining and addicting

Graphics:9
Do what they're suppose to do and a little more, just a little!!

Presentation:9
Menu's are easy to navigate through and controls are basic.

Gameplay:10
You'll spend a good 12-15 hours on the story and you can spend a lot of time trying to beat highscores, against yourself and others around the world.

Overall: 9.25

Great game for stay at home moms who like to play puzzle games

The Maw Review

The Maw is the first game made by Twisted Pixel, and I just have to say well done Twisted Pixel, well done. The Maw had a lot of anticipation from gamers after being named the Audience Choice award winner at PAX '08, and in a sense it has lived up it all its expectations.

In The Maw, you play Frank, an alien captured by galactic bounty hunters along with other aliens and put into some high tech containers on the bounty hunters ship. One of the aliens on the ship is special because he becomes your friend, in a weird kind of way. This character is The Maw("The Maw" is his actual full name). After a crash landing, you and The Maw get together and go around eating various creatures across the planet.

Throughout the game you gain new powers by eating new creatures. Eating is basically all you do in this game. The levels are fun, but a bit repetitive just because of the fact that you just go and eat things the whole game. There are new creatures in each level so that keeps it different. The sound is invigorating and the graphics are great. The game is pretty short, I beat it in about 4 hours. It could be beat in 3.5 hours rushing and about 6 hours to go through everything.

Sound: 9
Invigorating

Graphics: 9
Great for an arcade game.

Presentation: 8
Everything is easy to navigate through and controls are basic.

Gameplay: 6
The levels get repetitive and are very short. After you beat this game once I doubt you will go back and play it again unless trying to get achievements.

Overall: 8

The game is only 800 microsoft points($10) so it worth the money.

Chief S21's Game of the Year 2008

Grand Theft Auto, in my opinion, is a game made for the gaming gods. There is so much to do in this game and it never gets old. I spent around 35 hours on this game rushing through the story. The single player alone is worth more than the retail price to me because of all the possibilities. The multiplayer is fun because you can go through the city you've played through over and over with your friends and do missions or just screw around together. The characters are realistic, great to get to know, and hilarious. The graphics are amazing and the story is one of my favorites from any game I have ever played. And that's Grand Theft Auto 4 is my Game of the Year 2008.

Runner up: Fallout 3

Fallout 3 is jam-packed game with, just like gta4, has so much to do. The main quests alone took me around 30 hours and the side quests took me around another 20 hours to finish. Post apocalyptic D.C. looks really realistic and I see some many things I would find in D.C. today(seeing as how I've been there at least 150 times). All of the quests are top notch and very interesting, as in, they keep the player interested. A great contender and awesome time investment. And that's why Fallout 3 is my game of the year runner up 2008.

SealedFate's game of the year 2008

Winner: Grand Theft Auto 4

Make no mistake, Grand Theft Auto 4 is an achievement in its own right. Imbued and blessed with a story with enough integrity to be the next Scorsese story, Grand Theft Auto 4 IS the cinematic accomplishment in the video game industry this year. Rivaled by the acclaimed Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA4 leads this year by a hair with gorgeous set pieces, a realistic, gritty depiction of New York that never makes itself seem like a caricature, and lends itself to be as organic as a synthetic atmosphere can be.

This gem stands tall as an achievement in storytelling, execution, and packs a surprisingly powerful multiplayer component to boot. Enriched with wonderfully memorable characters, and a protagonist that really tugs at your emotional core as the player becomes engulfed with the feelings, mindset, and overall psyche of Nico Bellic, no doubt one of the most memorable video game characters in history.

Note: My "boss" made me write this article on a relative whim, sorry its legs are a bit short.

Runner up: Fallout 3

Fallout 3 is another marvel in Bethesdas' growing library of wonderfully engaging RPGs. The huge fan of Morrowind and Oblivion I was, there was no way I was passing up on this sure-fire hit from the hailed western RPG developer. Its story is engaging, and its RPG elements glow with their inevitable draw as the player is sucked straight in to the barren wastes of ravaged DC. Exploring every nook and cranny of this totally engaging world is a little tick that eats up so much time and can become a game in its own form, Fallout 3 is a perfect addition to a fan of western RPGs. Post apocolyptia has never been so much fun.

ChaoticUnion's Game of 2008

Winner: Fable 2
Just a little controversial, no? Well I knew for a fact that none of the other authors would choose this one but I certainly don't care. Fable 2, to me, was like a breath of fresh air as it pertains to the shooter laiden Xbox 360. All of the Contenders in my mind brought things to the table but Fable 2 took risks. Who would want quicktime-esque minigames to determine something like love or skills. Exactly Nobody. But its what Fable 2 excels at which puts it in a league of its own. The atmosphere in the early going is unrivaled and the combat is so fluid and intuitive. The graphics are highly stylized and oozing with color. Fable 2 delivers an experience that is part rpg, part action adventure and nobody can doubt that it presents more than its fair share of moral choices, including a very provocative one at the end. Sure it has no multiplayer nor high production values but this "simple" little game will have you yearning for more. Congrats, Peter Molyneaux, you finally pwned!

Runner Up: Grand Theft Auto 4

Great Game period. Gigantic city, no in-game load times, amazing story, deep characters and expansive multiplayer. No other game could be runner up in my mind.

And the Winner is... Not you Sony

This is an Editorial from Chief S21 and so any sentiments reflected in this post will not affect the fair coverage of future games. -ChaoticUnion

How do you make a rant about sucky video game consoles without mentioning the Playstation 3?
The answer is... you can't. In this rant I'll be talking about the $600 piece of shit I bought December 1st, 2006. Unlike some people I was willing to pay the $600 because of my love for the PS2, but still, $600?!?! Not to mention it being the most expensive console to hit the market!

I was so excited when getting my PS3. My first game was no question, Resistance: Fall of Man.It wasn't that hard of a choice just because of the fact that it was the only good game on the Ps3 and I don't think one game is worth buying a $600 console. The games were so bad, I heard people saying they used their PS3 as just a blu-ray player so that it wouldn't be worthless(You could only imagine how I felt when I finished Resistance). The fact that there was no controller vibration only made it worse. Everyday I would walk by my dust magnetic Playstation and think of what I could have done with all that money while urging for a good game.

Now to talk about Playstation Home. I was excited when first entering Home, thinking, "This is gonna change the PS3." Boy was I wrong. First of all, for the person who doesn't like to pay for online, it is hard to have fun to the fullest extent without buying a new house or furniture(What little they have right now). You can't really have fun in your one room harbour apartment, which is basically useless considering there's not much to do but sit, move furniture, and look at the same boats. Most of the time when trying to play arcade games, pool, and/or bowling, its occupied. The wait is too long for my attention span. Home is an open advertising market, the only problem is I'm still waiting for something to show up. The only advertisment I've seen is red bull and its actually not even all that great. The only things on the location are platforms on a beach and planes passing by every 10 seconds.

The Playstation Store is kinda weird. Some things are hard to find such as videos and games. Another thing that I'm confused about is the amount of bundles the PS3 has. Its like they make a new one every month.

I leave you now with the video that makes me depressed every time I look at my PS3.

P.S.- Everything in this post are things I think should have been addressed before they crashed and burned. Things may be getting better, but Sony has to learn from their mistakes instead of continuing with them, which I think is ridiculous.

Windows 7 first impressions

I took it upon myself to overnight-download the new free windows 7 beta build, burn it to a DVD as an ISO, and install it on my Vista Home Premium partition. And may I say im beginning to like it.

One of my first and biggest gripes with windows vista was its overall instability. Yes I was an early adopter, and yes, i did download service pack one. I was a PC enthusiast at the time, I played a few PC games including Counter-Strike Source and a few others, i was concerned on the state of my PC's hardware, and I was obsessed about performance. I loved XP, I was a fan of its (relatively) tightly-knit kernel archetecture, easy of use, overall performance, and of course i loved the novelty XP tellitubby theme. It was easy to use, a huge performance jump over Windows 98 and the dreaded Milennium Edition, which, god save me, i had to suffer through. I stuck with XP, generally liking it as an overall package.

Then vista rolled around, Im a sucker for nice aesthetics, and it looked like Vista had it all under the hood. I had heard stories of how it would be so much secure, an overall tighter and better performing shell, and just an overall step up in the modern computing world in a demanding market. Apple was pushing OS X, violently, throwing every jab it could at Microsoft as if there was no tomorrow. Vista was the supposed answer to the flashy OS X and all its bells and whistles - the lovely dock, the nice and catchy software that would always be named I-something-or-the-other, the performance, and the impregnability to any sort of virus or hacker threat. I immediately obtained Vista, and hit a brick wall.

Problems? You name em: driver problems, crashing, aero and graphics glitches, hardware incompatibility, hiccups in computing, RAM hogging, cheap, gimmicky USB superfetch nonsense, etc, etc. My games wouldnt run as well, my hardware couldn't carry as much weight, when it worked that was, performance took a hit, and I just wasnt feeling the new wave Microsoft was going for..not to mention the goddamn UAC that kept popping up in my face...ohh the horror. Luckily I partitioned my hard drive rather than upgrading from XP, so I always had my tellituby-laden trusty fall back lying opn the other half of my HDD.

I didnt want to go back, there were just too many hoops to hurl myself through to attain the same, superior experience i was already having with XP. It wasnt worth it for me, and i felt as though i had wasted that 65 gigs i had spent on that HDD partition. Service pack 1 didnt really do it for me, at that point i was already sour with that vista-y after taste in my mouth. I just watned the next tightly-crafted package from microsoft to not be a faulty piece of bloatware all in itself, but this is microsoft after all.

I was wrong here, i thought windows 7 would just be an even flashier vista with a Mac-ier feel. It takes what vista does right and eliminates what vista does wrong. It feels like an overall more comprehensive package that definitely runs more efficiently, isnt as much of a resource hog, packs more features, is easier and friendlier to the user, and is sexy looking to boot. I've only been toying with it for about a day now, but full impressions and a grander description of this fresh and so-far impressive OS shall come at a later date.

And this was the guy who wrote that silly Wii rant.
For fun nintendo warriors, for fun.

Microsoft Its Your Turn.

This is an Editorial from ChaoticUnion and so any sentiments reflected in this post will not affect the fair coverage of future games. -ChaoticUnion

Nintendo got its hurting earlier this week and the site saw an increase in viewership by more than 350%. But thats not why we are doing this. You see, every system has its flaws and Microsoft's console is certainly no exception.

And if you could rip Microsoft for one thing it should be and is hardware. Basically, the hardware is shit. In what world is it ok to make a console, charge 400 dollars for it, and then have it break and break and then break again. Me personally, I bought my (not so) shiny new Xbox 360 Elite on September 17th 2007. Eleven days later on the 28th, I get home to play a nice game of Halo 3 and then what do I see? Microsoft flipping me off in the form of the Three Red Lights of Death. From the time I sent it off to Microsoft up til the time I receive it was a grand total of 7 weeks. After being promised a 2-3 weeks. Whats up with that?

The Customer Service people are very helpful in Microsoft's defens3. But man if I could get someone who speaks proper english. No offense MS or anyone else but there is no excuse as to why I have to go through such a hassle to understand whats going on. Not to mention their false sentiments. When I recently sent my Xbox back and called MS the representative asked me:

"Hows your holiday going?"
(I didnt say this but i should have) How the hell do you think it's going, I have no console for
the busiest game season.

"Are you still in school?"
Yes and how exactly is that relevant, huh?HuH?!

And then to hold them more accountable, I have one more question. Microsoft for a system with a reported 33% hardware failure rate, far higher than any system in history, why is it that you are fucking over the early adopter? WHy do I have to pay now for your fuck up if I bought my console when you first wanted me to, at launch. I made you, bitches. Its good business, not good customer appreciation.

Now Xbox Live, keeping it short and sweet. I really dont mind paying for a good service but please, at least give me more free stuff. That or just dont nickel and dime. Really I think XBox Live will get better but I need Xbox Live to be a firm selling point for xbox and while it is the difference between it and the Playstation Network is certainly not $50 a year, not anymore.

The Xbox 360 as a whole has farrrrrr fewer complaints than the Wii from a Hardcore gamers standpoint (For that Scroll Down). However there are areas for improvement. Tell us more of your complaints about the Xbox 360 and vote inthe poll And become a Gam3Spawn follower for you chance to win a prize.

Weekly Warcraft Update

Winkie Pictures, Images and Photos
As we all wait for patch 3.0.8 to go live, most of us are just running naxx, doing heroics, and farming. So what is taking so long you ask? Well my answer to that is...I DON'T KNOW!In my opinion 3.0.8 should have gone live already, not much too look forward to in this patch. But the sooner this patch comes out the sooner 3.1 will be out (hopefully it'll go live this month). And as you all know 3.1 will bring with it a new raid called Ulduar which will feature tier 8 gear. Which I'm sure everyone is looking forward to.
Now I leave you with a link to one of my favorite WoW arena comic :http://www.tehgladiators.com/comic/25.jpg

Dear Nintendo: You Suck.

By the way..whoever voted Wii in our poll will be castrated.
Note: This is an Editorial from SealedFate. In no way will this rant affect the fair judgement of any upcoming Wii games we may or may not cover. -ChaoticUnion.

Nintendo, first and foremost, you suck. To me, and actual gamers the Wii was Nintendo's white flag of surrender. They gave in because they knew the Gamecube and its associated software would never win over any older or more serious gamers. Mario Kart and super mario and all his associated shovelware putrid placenta-covered off-spawn Nintendo would shit out to milk us all wouldn't enslave us forever. We're smart enough to know this is all you've got: first party rehashes that dont change much from their last "respawn". Dribble folks, dribble. I'll admit, Super Mario Galaxy is THE successful successor to Super Mario 64. I was a fan, and it brought back memories to me when playing this gleeful color-drenched newgrowth. My review of that game will go up some day, and its actually entertaining to me.

But the average score of all reviewed Wii games on IGN was a 5.5. Over 300 games shoveled at the system, and an epic fail comes out the other end. We can all throw shiz at the wall and watch one of them eventually stick, but it makes a bad name for whatever you're representing. Its like religion, when you pray and something goes your way, its all because of God's glory, but 90% of the rest of the time, when the shit keeps hitting the fan, its because you're not good enough, didnt pray enough..etc, but im veering a bit off topic.

Nintendo does not deserve to be winning this video game generation. A console that doesnt even display in high definition...in the high definition era, coupled with a great selection of shitty Mahjong and Solitare featuring waggle controls appeals to two groups: suburban mom's and their families who sit at home and have affairs with their husbands, and douchebags. Apparently the sane remainder of the human population seem to be vastly outnumbered.

Ive been bottling this up for a while Nintendo, and even though this post was a tad bid coerced from my "boss" aptly dubbed ChaoticUnion, which is a nice title for our friendship IRL with our blog posters, you had this one coming. Nintendo, you are scum, I hope your corporate headquarters gets razed by a fanatic group of Neo-Nihilists that find it in their hearts to rid the earth of the scum that is you. The Wii is not a video game system, it's a little white box little girls can waggle their plastic nin-ten-dicks at while they imaginarily bake.

Fuck you Nintendo, Fuck you.

In other news..Sony claims the Xbox 360 is "overpriced" and against the cohesiveness of the greater atmosphere of one's theater system. Right Sony, it seems that every time im passing through my room, that Xbox just ALLWAYS seems to get in my way, god damn sony, you had it right all along, you priced ur original console at 600 bucks. I guess it takes one to know one..then you dare say the Wii is a comprehensive entertainment package too...right because it cant even play DVDs. It must be because its soooo compact and doesnt get in your way! Not to mention the PS3 is a fucking 15 pound satan testicle in a nice black sleek shell. That thing runs hot, pardon my testicular joke. Yeahh, that ps3 realllyyy is compact, and doesnt clutter the entertainment system as opposed to the 360. Fuck you too sony. Give me some games to play.

And that..is all for now.

Gaming Update

New Gears 2 patch - VP of Epic Games, Mark Rein announced an new update for Gears 2 that will fix online exploits such as fixing the ability to wield an invisible shield, melee through some walls, gain infinite Lancer ammo and equip a shield and a two-handed weapon simultaneously plus many more. They're also going to make several small changes to improve the overall online gameplay experience, like increased penalties for quitting matches early, adding additional spawn protection against planted grenades and chainsaw attacks, and adding the ability to see the Submission flag carrier destination by using Tac/Com. For all you achievement hunters, achievement progress numbers to the War Journal, increased frequency of in-game Achievement progression notifications and some new Achievements for DLC are being added. And for those who are having some shotgun problems, the update fixed the client side hit detection on the shotgun so that in a high-latency (i.e. “laggy”) match, the shotgun will be more reliable. We’ve also fixed another bug whereby shotgun and boomshot rounds could strike the ground when firing from the hip. They don't have an exact date for it but all indicators are it will go live within January.

Bioshock=Star Wars?- In an interview with MCV, Global President of 2K Christoph Hartmann said "Bioshock has the potential to emulate the Star Wars series – and that the publisher might even create five sequels to the 2007 smash hit. Some of the mega-franchises we talk about only lasted ten years because companies took five years to ship a game. Look at Duke Nukem. It’s been a great franchise for 20 years, because it seems like it’s been in development for 20 years. “For Bioshock, because it’s so story driven, the question obviously arises: how long can you do it without turning into The Matrix? The first Matrix was great, the second one was weird and the third one, you thought: ‘Who [making this] is on crack and who isn’t?’. But, then again, look at Star Wars. It’s a fight between good and evil, just like Bioshock. If we spin it the right way and get the right twist of innovation, we can make six parts of it, as Star Wars did. But we have to be careful not to cash in. I won’t name the company, but there was a great racing game years ago. They brought it back year-on-year. If you look at the scores, it’s hard to believe what they’ve done to it. It’s upsetting, actually.”

Bioshock 2: Sea Of Dreams is due to come out on Xbox 360 and PS3 this year.

Xbox Live Sales- Thanks to the Xbox 360 Arcade's low price, 360 sales were 28 million units sold and 17 million Xbox live users online. The Xbox live revenue hit $1 billion.

The Bourne Conspiracy Review

Graphics- The graphics in Bourne Conspiracy are very realistic, arguably better looking than character models of the "Smack down vs. Raw" series. This is no surprise considering it uses the "Unreal" engine, so used in games such as the "Unreal Tournament" and "Gears of War" franchise. The game continues to look superb no matter how fast or slow the current action is, with the exception of a few minor noticeable jaggies. As for the cut scenes it looks like you are watching a movie.... beautiful.
Sound- The sound during gameplay is on point. Like most games there is music to alert you when danger is around and is silence when you have eliminated the threat. The voice acting is also movie quality. Of course your going to have that every once in a while moment when you think what the hell where they thinking putting that terrible voice acting in the game, but what game doesn't have that. The main character says things that you would expect Matt Damon in the actual Bourne movies to say. Be prepared to hear the Bourne theme song quit often throughout the game.
Story/Gameplay- Although the game is called The Bourne Conspiracy the story seems to follow the storyline of The Bourne Identity, the first installment to the Bourne series. The first thing that you may notice is that you are not playing as Matt Damon, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, its just that when you think Jason Bourne, you think of Matt Damon, that is of course if you have watched the movies.

The games starts off with a mission that has almost nothing more to do
with the story other than to show his life as an agent, seems like they decided to just through in a random mission just for fun. There will be times in the game where you are playing exact scenes from the movie, but again there are a lot of random missions that also pose as a flashback from when he was an agent. The cutscenes also follow the storyline of the first movie, what you see in the cutscenes did happen in the movie. The game is very short and is very easy to pick up. The fight sequences are fun to do but there aren't a wide variety of combo's to use. The square button is the light attack and if you hold it, it is a light kick, same for triangle except instead of light attacks its heavy attacks. It takes quite a while for the game to realize that you are holding down a button to do a kick, so while your holding that down the enemy can easily take a nice chunk of your health away. You also have a adrenaline meter which is used to initiate Bourne's signature takedowns, whether it be a hand-to-hand takedown, a sprinting takedown, or a shooting takedown. Bourne also has a spidey sense type of thing called Bourne Instinct. It highlights anything of importance including enemies, also when wielding a gun Bourne instinct will auto-aim to a enemy. This can be very useful, but when playing on higher difficulty it does deplete the adrenaline meter. The other thing that I didn't like, is that when sprinting in tight areas and running around corners, the camera goes everywhere except where you want it to go and Bourne tends to run into walls while sprinting around corners. The driving part of the game feels very fast pace, but sometimes the car just feels a lil too uncontrollable. I found myself running into a lot of things due to the poor handling of the car, I think they could have done better with it. Overall the game can be a little confusing at times but for the most part the game is pretty fun but way to short. You could by it and beat it the same day. This game is definitely a rent, and deserves a 7.6. Considering there is no 7.6 playing card, it receives the 8 of clubs.
